Supercharger vs Turbocharger?

Default Supercharger vs Turbocharger?

I'm relocating back to the US, and want to purchase a used Cooper S. I'm torn between the pre-2007 superchargers and the newer turbo charged engines. I'd love to get some informed perspectives on this. I'm currently leaning toward a 2006-2007 convertible...

the 06/07 verts are supercharged they didn't change to turbos till mid 08

perhaps if you provided more information? I have not driven the turbo but I do know that in general FI terms that SC power is more even with less lag issues given the belt power. Turbos are energy free running off exhaust gas but the fuel source can be variable and thus give you lag in certain regions of the torque curve.

I have the SC and love it sounds great and the car is very peppy.
