Default Adding Spare to 2009 S Convertible

Just got a 2009 S Mini Convertible for my wife. I am really liking it, a lot. She has noticed that I drive it way too much.
The previous owner put on new 17" Tires 2000 miles ago. They are not run flats. The vehicle originally came with RFTs.
I would like to add the spare tire. We are in Florida.
I find tires/wheels and a carrier on ebay. The carrier looks like they were removed from vehicles and seem to include various brackets and springs.
Is there a post somewhere that details what parts I need? Also, I think that if it is a front flat, I need to move a good rear to the front and put the compact spare on the rear. Do I need to carry two jacks?
I have a small compressor and a can of sealant in the boot, just in case.
Thanks in advance for any advise.
