I am helping a buddy out by replacing the head gasket on his 2008 Non-S Cooper and I have just pulled the oil pan to clean it out and found this dowel pin in the pan. I am not very familiar with these cars and am basically just following the service manual as I go so I would like to know if anybody has an idea what this pin goes to.
