I have a hard time locating the MAF Sensor on my Mini Cooper. I have a 2007 base model hatchback R56, N12B16 engine. I want to take it off, so I can clean it. Can someone help me locate it? I added a picture of the engine bay (not my car, but same engine).

1.Is this where it is located?? I canīt see any connector to a MAF Sensor here, if itīs here itīs not visible.

2. Can it be located on this side? What is this box?

Follow the tube that connects to box #2 in your picture. It should exit towards the back of the box #2 and connect to #1 in the picture somewhere. You are in Sweden so its a little different from the ones in the US.

Also if you can take a picture right above #1 we should be able to see where it connects.

 

Okay, here is a couple of pictures. I have numbered them 1 and 2 based on the info in the first picture from my first post in the thread.

 

It will be after the air filter. Open up the #2 box and see it you see it connected to the back of the box, facing the firewall.

 

Do you mean after the air filter box on the left side of the car? The tube that goes straight down to the ground from the air filter box? Or do you mean the right side box just before the air filter box?

 

I have the same problem, is it inside box 2?

I've taken out the air filter housing and connecting pipes to locate my MAF sensor but to no avail, any help would be much appreciated!
R56 N12 engine it is btw

 

Can anyone help out with the location of the magical MAF sensor? Still havnīt been able to find out where it is.

 

There is no MAF sensor for these Mini's
