Front end service mode question

Front end service mode question
I put a blue ox baseplate on my 2008 MCS for flat towing. Do I need to remove it to put the mini in front end service mode?? I need to replace the turbo feed line and can't get to the heat shield bolts (big hands I guess). ANY help or advice is appreciated!!
