I have what appears to be a rare 2008 R56 JCW. Whenever I search for parts, JCW is never an option on the 08 MCS. Anyway.. I need to replace the front struts and in searching, there is ref to sport or non-sport. What determines whether it's sport or not?

I have a R56 S model and went to the parts store yesterday for front struts and ran into the same thing. Didn't know there was a difference, gonna start doing some research and I'll let you know if I run across something.

 

I just went through this problem and purchased the sport version instead of standard. My 2008 mini is a Cooper S with the "Sport" package on the window sticker. This is not the sport suspension option.

You need a vin decoder such as https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...vindecoder.php or Free online MINI VIN decoder - myMINIvin.com to find all the specific options for your car.

The option S226A is the sport suspension.
