Default R56 N14 running rough.

Hi all, hoping for some hints/answers to my current dilemma, while driving on the highway, my wife's Mini started to lose power and shudder, so limped home and plugged in my scantool which showed No injector spray on cylinders 1 and 4.
My first thought was HPFP, but it has always and still does start immediately with no problem, even though it now starts on 2 cylinders.
This is a 2008 Mini Cooper S automatic Hatch with 145,000 kms (approx 90,000 miles) which has recently had timing chain done, the obligatory oil leaks from oil cooler and turbo oil supply line, which until now has started and run flawlesly.

Does this seem like an ECU/DME issue? A youtube video I watched showed a tech testing a R56 ECU which ended up having failed injector drivers on cylinders 1 and 4, which seems to be what this car is exhibiting.

Rail pressure seems to be correct and always above or very close to the "Rail Pressure Standard Value" while idling or through the rev range, which seems to indicate the HPFP is working correctly. Am I on the right track here?

Is there anything else which could cause this issue?
