Reality Check
The Missus just had her 2008 Mini Cooper S in the shop for some major repairs. (120,000 miles)
The original issue was prolly brought on by waiting too long for the oil change.
They replaced the timing chain and tensioners. (I guess there was an issue, but no official recall)
The replaced the Turbo.
The repair was $6500.
The check engine light came on and it started making a similar noise as the original issue, just quieter.
The dealer is now saying that the throttle body failed because of the increased pressure from the new turbo. (Should be the same spec as the original, no?) More $$, of course.
Does this sound plausible? Or is the Dealer covering mistakes and giving her the rear entry porking with no lube?
This dealer has done repairs in the past and left some fasteners loose (and fell off) so my confidence in them is a little lacking.
Please, please.....any info will be helpful!
Thanks!
