So I'm about to purchase a replacement for my now broken USB/Aux port (sound only comes out of the right channel), but I don't want to buy it before understanding fully how to replace it.
From what I can tell, it's an easy swap once you get the original unit out. Problem is, even after scouring the internet, I can't find a tutorial or video that shows me how to pop it out.
I'm driving a 2011 Mini Cooper Base, non-convertible.
Has anyone done this?

Hello!
Im looking to do the same replacement job on my 2012 MINI and found a video on youtube that goes through removing the front panels in order to get to the aux/usb module connector. Its a european model that the guy is working on so some things might be flipped (I live in the US) but it seems pretty straightforward. Tons of panels to remove but not especially difficult.
Other than a video showing how to remove the dash from an R53, (which is different) have you found any other info?

No need to pull out any panels. I was able to lever out the left side using a metal spudger as shown. As usual, just be careful to wiggle the cables out sufficiently and hold on to them, so that you don't lose them back into the fascia.
