Default Spark Plug Issue

Hey Everyone!

So let me preface here: i'm not a mechanic, but handy with tools

I have a technical question regarding spark plugs. I had purchased a preowned 2011 base model cooper R56 N16 and went ahead to change the spark plugs via DIY (trying to trouble shoot an engine light OBD P0304). I had ordered NGK 95770 thinking those were the correct spark plugs. Not until I installed the spark plugs I noticed the OEM's that I pulled out were BERU 12zr6sp2 which I plugged into the online converter/compatibility site and it came up with the NGK 90223. From what I can see the only difference is iridium/platinum all the the other specs are the same.

My question to you all is, can I use the NGK 95770 that I installed or do I need to use platinum spark plugs. I noticed they are also alot more expensive. I was able to start up the car, but dont know how it will perform on the roads.

Looking forward to any input. thanks!

The OEM supplier plugs for your '11 R56 base are Beru 12 ZR-6 SP2 here: 2011 Mini Cooper Base Hatchback - Ignition - Page 1. You can also use NGK PLZKBR7B8DG (90223) at that link as well. Whenever you need to order parts, please be sure to check out our parts catalog as we have all the correct parts listed for your MINI.
