We've found an '08 "S" model with 9851 miles that looks good.
Question: Would the balance of the 3 year, 36K mile warranty transfer to me as the 2nd owner?
Question: Is there an extended warranty I could purchase from the dealer for this car at this time and mileage? If so, what are some of the details of the warranty and cost?

Ahhh best to ask your dealer ... yes the warranty transfers , extended warranties vary mini offers one as well as many aftermarket insurers , search on the net there are tons available

 

We finally got over to Orlando Mini and satisfied our warranty questions.
Yes, the remaining mfgr warranty (4 years, 50K miles) DOES transfer to the next owner(s).
And, you can buy an extended warranty for $1800 that takes it out to 6 years and 100K miles.
If you buy the used Mini from the dealer, it can come under the Certified Pre-Owned program which INCLUDES that extended warranty at no extra cost.
We ended up not coming to terms with the dealer that had the '08 that Carol liked, so the search goes on, which starts a NEW topic!
