Default Acceleration issues

I have a 2002 Mini with approxiamately 60,000 miles on it. I really love this car, but have some issues with the acceleration and don't know if it normal. The car has what I would call a lag when I push the accelerator, can anyone tell me is this normal?

I'd say no , the lag might be a computer or fuel issue. With the limited info best I can say

I was thinking maybe comp issue myself, but what other info would help to troubleshoot? If I push the accelerator pedal to the floor the RPM's go up and then the engine catch's up soon after, I know I've been told mini's can have some tranny issues, but this one does only have 60k on it for mileage

What Tranny ?

Auto
Could be tranny issue bad torque convertor or slipping CVT , Or tranny computer shift point issues (reflash)

Manual
Slipping clutch (should be worse in higher gears and uphills)
