Default cost of ownership on a 2005 S coupe?

I understand that anything older than '07 has a very expensive transmission repair/replacement somewhere in their future... but how bad is it?

For instance, if you can get a 2005 with 92K miles on it for $10K, will it be worth it still after the cost of the inevitable transmission work that looms ahead?

Thanks!

You fail to mention AUTOMATIC or Standard ???

standards are fairly stout neighbors at almost 400K with original tranny, on second clutch

the The Automatics are HUGELY pricey , I've seen $6k/$8k to repair/replace down to $3k for a rebuild
