Post Front lights and windscreen wipers not working unless front fog light switch made!

Hello everyone,

Just recently new to the forum. I've recently purchased a MOT failure mini Cooper R50 2001.
I've managed to get the car running and all lights from the dash cleared. So so far so good.

When I went to re-MOT it, for some reason the front lights and windscreen wipers did not work. (Even though they did prior to being taken to the garage) Although for some reason if i keep the front fog light switch made (pressed down) and the put my lights on or windscreen wipers on then it all works fine. As soon as i release the front fog light switch, it all goes off again.

I had an electrician look at it (while i was at work) he seemed to think it was the foot well module was wet with water leaking through the A pillar seal, (although the floor and carpet by the pedals were dry) But for some reason he has not returned to the car or wont accept my calls so i could see what he has done, so now i am on here to hopefully have some guidance if anybody else has had this issue.

Could it be an earth? Faulty front fog light switch? New foot well module required?

Any help would be much appreciated.
