Hatch Lock

My latch has a mind of its own. It will open sometimes but most of the time it won't. So i have to pull the cord under the seat to open it. Anyone else delt with this problem? Please help

I'd try the obvious first , flush the latch out with WD40 and then relube with white lithium
mine picks up loads of road dirt and gets crusty

I tried that. I think it might have something to do with the release button on the hatch. It doesnt always pop open.

It's an electronic switch you can remove it and test for continuity ,,, Theres two torx screws to remove the handle to get at the plug
