irratic acceleration

Default irratic acceleration

my mini has suddenly been acting kinda wierd.during acceleration the rpm do as they wish and its as if though me pressing the accelerator does nothing it just revs higher but no gain in speed.anyone have any clue whats wrong????? feedback is appreciated

If you have a 5-speed, it sounds like a slipping clutch. Perhaps its worn out, or perhaps something is preventing it from fully engaging.

If you have an AT, then you may have an even more serious issue... unless its just the normal, odd behavior of the CVT type AT that is used.

Please post back your findings.

oh.. it's happening to my mini too
when i step on the gas.. the rpm goes way up.. but the speed does not..

yep that'll be clutch (unless you haven't put it into gear !!! lol)
