New B looking to join the mini community
I'm a new b to the mini craze and I'm actually looking at a 2002 Mini Cooper (not an S). I have been shopping for a little sporty car, decent fuel mileage and one that is fun to drive. My buddy has one and I followed him down the road the other day and it looked like a blast!
I have one huge question. The car I'm looking at has 177,000 miles on it. Yes that number is correct. So my question is, what falls off? I hope nothing.
Does anyone have any input on a decision to pick this car up for between $9,000 and $10,000?

RE: New B looking to join the mini community
Hard telling if that is a good deal with the information provided. IMHO, paying 50% of the value of a new car for one that has had probably 75% of it's lifetime miles put on it, and is entering it's probable break-down stage of life; this is not a good investement. But that is just me (I hate walking home). If the guy has maintenance records on the car, and it is obvious it was well cared for, it might be OK. If it has lingering problems that haven't been fixed, that would tell me a lot about the owner's care habits, and I would walk away.
