Talking SOLVED, Thank you!

I was having problems with weak acceleration from a stop, really rough idle, and an emission leak code attributed to a gas cap. The latter I thought had nothing to do with the former. The mechanics couldn't figure it out. Mind you my mini is a 2005 and it's 2017 now. This very old original post saved me thousands. The mechanic attributed it to the beginning stages of my transmission going out.

I did research and thankfully found this thread. Additionally, I found another thread that had a link to a cheaper Purge Valve. The part is normally $80-140. However someone found an IDENTICAL part for $35. Auto zone part #1997278.

I paid the shop $27 to install the part and as soon as I drove out of the parking lot I could tell it was better! 25 min city drive home and NO rough idle at any stop lights!

Glad that this was helpful. My Mini is long gone, and mainly because of the local dealer I will never own another.
