Default water leak in back trunk

i have a 2003 cooper and I large branch came down on it a while ago, breaking the driver's side rear window. Well, since it doesnt rain much in Tucson, I didnt notice water coming in and settling in the back trunk until a major rain.

I figured the glass installer didnt seal it properly, but it appears to be coming in on both sides now so it cant be that.

I looked through the back access panels in the trunk (to access rear lights) and it seems to be pooling there but I cant trace it farther than that.

Where is it coming from?? could it be the rain gutters where the holes for racks are? or what??

Im good with fixing things but this is baffling me. Im sure if I had a complete schematic I could see if it has something to do with the sunroof drains but I dont, so I have to guess.

Thanks for your help

I had the interior tailgate covers off to detect a leak today. I think water gets in behind the trim at the bottom of the window and through the holes for the retaining clips. I am trying to find the clips online so i can refit new ones with a silicone sealant under them.
Water has been gathering in the tool section.
