My sister's 2005's dash display appears to be going on the fritz. She tells me that while driving today it looked like a light show. She's across country so I can't see for myself but says things like the gas cap indication, speedometer and misc. dash lights started going off and on. She's visiting Mom right now with local shops closed for the holidays and I'd like to offer some comfort. I was thinking a loose terminal connection but with things going off that shouldn't (like the gas cap) I suspect it has something to do with a control module. Any insight is appreciated.

For anyone interested.. the Mini has all grounding wires daisy chained and any number of minor faults can cause this problem. turns out it was the ipad connection but things like a bad battery can also be the problem.
