Default Electrical problems?

Hi, I'm the relatively new owner of a 2004 Mini Cooper S, and I haven't figured out all the little quirks yet. Recently, the bonnet/tailgate light on the speedometer lit on, and I can't seem to get it to go off. Are these cars known for minorelectrical bugs, or could this be a more critical problem?

This may be an obvious question, but did you try slamming them closed?

I had to do that today as a matter of fact to get mine to shut off.

The boot is especially tough to shut fully, really slam it and see if it goes out.

be sure to not close it by the liscence plate ... it'll bend and damage the rear
