I recently bought a 2006 MINI Cooper S Supercharged. How do I know if I have an upgraded JCW engine? The paper work that came with my car said it was Supercharged but nothing about JCW upgrades. On the inside of my door it has ATTENTION: John Cooper Works Suspension installed and under the hood there are John Cooper Works Emblems. Does that mean I have the upgraded engine and air intake? The dealer said my 06 KBB for 20grand. I haggled my heart out and got it for 13820 so I am hoping that I got a steal on this one and had upgrades they didn't know about.

 

The JCW intake has a trap door that opens to allow more air in at speed , unfortunately this can be bought/installed aftermarket

Same goes for the suspension

take the VIN to a mini dealer they should be able to tell you if it was a factory JCW car
