R53 mini cooper low alternator charge and noise
hey guys have a 2005 R53 MCS had a issue with the battery light coming on and a very strong burning smell coming from the car when this first happened.
Put a volt meter on the alternator and it was only putting out 12V
So pulled off the main drive belt spun all the pulley's and nothing felt out of sorts.
Now the car is making a ticking sound when the engine is going
note in the video can hear the normal engine noise then every second or so can hear a different noise and is a slight burning smell.
also found the F41 fuse blown ( Relay fan steering control module/pump)
not sure if it is the alternator or not? anyone have some ideas?
could it be the alternator?
