Default R53 Transmission/ Clutch issue

So I recently picked up a 2006 MT S. I was teaching my daughter to drive a MT and on a 1-2 shift the transmission made a loud pop and popped out of gear. We pulled over and gave the car a quick inspection. No leaks, no visible broken parts, so I started the car up and everything seems fine, but the trans has no gears. It will shift through all the gears but not one of them will attempt to move the car. My only thought is that the spline on the clutch is gone or possibly a broken input shaft. What has me scratching my head is that is make no noise. Even when we towed it home.

Thoughts??

Transmission issues I would first check the shift cables and if it still has the dual mass clutch replace it with a
new clutch as well
