It has been determined that the automatic transmission in my 2006 MINI S convertible w/paddle-shifters needs to be replaced. According to the dealership I would be able to replace it with any 2007 S class automatic transmission. If this is the case why is there such a large difference in price from one type of S's transmission in the same year to another's? Can someone please clear up the compatibility issue so that I can finally put an order in? Thank you very much!

 

I'm assuming (probably incorrectly) because the 07 tranny is for the second gen models?
