Default Buy a mini cooper

Hello guys i have always liked the style of a mini but would just like to know what others feel about it that may move me to one day buy one? I would like to to know all the positives and negatives especially from those who have owned one or had the experience of driving one.

What we do?

I actually just purchased one.

I too had always liked them, but it wasn't until I drove one that I knew it was going to be my next car. I test drove a ton of cars, ranging from Audis to Hondas to VWs. When I drove the MINI, I instantly fell in love with the handling. I felt like I was driving a go kart. I didn't have that instant spark in any of the other cars. That's what pushed me to make the move.

The only negative I have is how bumpy the ride can be at times. I'm guessing it is supposed to be this way since the car is pretty low, the suspension is pretty tight, and it's a small car. However, I often find myself worrying about it. I previously had a large SUV, and this never came across my mind. This definitely isn't a deal breaker, it's just something I've noticed as I've made the transition from a massive tank to a small go kart.

I bought an 04 Mini Cooper S and it's a blast to drive! I've always had Japanese imports but when I test drove this Mini back in July it's just so fun to drive. With the S type I have to use premium gas and use synthetic oil. I'm not sure about the base model tho. Maintenance is a little on the expensive side but you do have to remember that BMW makes the Mini Cooper. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Many positives, few negatives! A lot of fun to drive, excellent handling, easy to maintain yourself plus excellent community support from MINICooperforums and others!
