I am new here and I am located in NY. I really really want a MINI S!

I am headed over seas with the military in a few weeks and will not be back until mid summer.

I budgeted myself $12,000 for a Mini Cooper S. I want a 2003 hopefully in either red or dark blue...

Good car or not?

 

There are too many variables to answer your question ...
I'm assuming you have no specific car in mind ... once you find a car thing to look for is number of miles , maintenance up to date , ever been wrecked,

 

I am very picky with what I drive cars and motorcycles alike. I just sold my 03 SI and I want to stick with the hatchback style.

I have a few cars in mind GTI,RX8,WRX...Something about the Mini just catches my attention.

I want something sporty yet practical. How are they in the snow and how are the maint. costs?

I will know what to look for once I def. decide on the Mini just want some opinions of current owners...

 

I've got snow tires and mines great in snow ... most mornings I leave before the snow plow makes it ...

Maintenance I just ran out of warranty so I've had 0 maintenance costs

Why bother posting if you have nothing worth reading. I am simply here to find out answers and pro's and con's of current mini owners.

I make my decision in the end but buying blind with no info to me seems like a stupid idea...

 

Same boat as you bro.. but I don't even know what year I want.. I was told that the 2000-2004s were a bad choice cause they have some kind of defect or something.....

 

The early ones had LOADS of Auto tranny troubles
