Default Driving a Stick

Hello again
I currently drive an automatic car and would like to purchase a stick-shift MINI Cooper. Is is particularly hard to learn on a Cooper, or would you advise against it. Theoretically I know how to drive a stick-shift, but that's only in theory. My dad won't let me learn on his MINI, because it's a show-car. I really want a stock-shift though. Absolutley determined.

The MINI is a very simple car to learn/practice stick on! The electronic throttle makes it harder to stall. Just stay away from 02-04 Coopers, they have transmission problems.

Thank you that is very encouraging. My dad has a 2003 Cooper S and he said it was not the easiest stick to learn to drive on.
