Sorry thought you meant midas, yep the dealers can be high hence why we have that DIY linked above with parts. I just worry about those quick change places because we get call all the time and see it on multiple forums where they mess thing up on Euro cars, stripped out filter housings, cheap filters that crush and non spec oil, domestic cars seem to be ok as they are so much more common for their workload.

Also our parts come from ECS with lifetime replacement which any MINI dealership part is only 2 year if any. Other shops might be 1 year and thats it.

And yet the dealership told me 9 months ago both filters needed to be changed and it would cost an additional $200 and MIDAS took me out and showed me one of the air filters and it looked barely used. I stopped trusting dealership service departments a long time ago and only go there if I have to. I recommend finding a spot you trust and stay there until you find out otherwise. And if this MINI, at 24K miles, really does cost me $3,000 for broken mounts, I will be getting rid of it sooner than later and never buy another one.

Default Engine Mount Twice Broken at 66k

Motor Mount: 2nd Break. Absurd.

66k miles. 2017 JCW Coupe with manual transmission.

I have driven a lot of cars for a lot of miles. Never ever have had a broken engine mount. A second occurrence is absurd. I do think the volume of broken mounts is suggestive of Mini selling a car that did not perform at its most basic level. I dont even want to fix the second one. It just ticks me off too much right now.

Sad. I love this car. Am going to have to break up with it, unless Mini can make this right.
