I'm thinking about getting my wife a Mini Cooper, but... The apron from the street to my driveway is very steep. It's so steep some neighbors have to put a 2x4 length of board in the road to get their low cars over the apron to get in their driveways. I see the Mini Cooper has an 8' 2.2" wheelbase and 4.9" ground clearance. My Saturn Ion is 7' 8" wheelbase and 5.2" ground clearance and just clears the apron by about 3/4th inch. Do any of you have problems with ground clearance going over steep driveway aprons? The Mini dealer is quite a way away and I'm not sure if they'll let me drive one that far to test this.
