I would like to rent a Mini Cooper in Connecticut on Mother's Day weekend. My grandmother, my mother's mother, passed away last week and while I was in town for the services, three classic Mini Coopers drove by. My mother mentioned that she had always wanted to drive a Mini. I live in Chicago and am flying back on Mother's Day to surprise her, and I would like to rent a Mini for her for the weekend as a gift and a distraction.

I tried every major car rental company I could come up with. Only Sixt had one but is in the process of removing it from the fleet. I tried asking Car Max if they would rent me one for a weekend but they refused, saying they only sell cars, not rent. I have tried to find one through car sharing websites like Turo without success. I reached out to a dealership to see about renting a used one for the weekend, but I do not have high hopes.

Since this seems to be the hub of all things Mini, I am looking for suggestions. Does anyone know of a way I could come across a Mini for the weekend of May 7-8th?
