02 Mini, Standard - interior lights problem, water leak
Hello, have a '02 Mini Cooper, 5 speed. No sunroof.
Love the car...however I am recently experiencing some problems with the interior lights in the car.
We found out there is a leak that goes behind the glove box and they are going to pull that out and see what the problem is. Hoping the Harness is not carouded (spelling). Anyhow, the leak goes down towwards the module on the passenger side.
These are the problems I am experiencing....
The Tire light goes on.
Sometime the hood/trunk light goes on.
The dash lights do not go on (and driving at night this is a problem)
The signals work outside, but the indicator inside will not.
Yesterday the radio would not work and it read DISABLE on it. I started it again later and the radio was fine.
Sometime the heat won't go on. Or sometimes it will and the defrost won't.
It appears things are happening at random ... I need to know if anyone else is experiencing this and what the problem is. Please help... and feel free to ask me any other questions.
Thank you

First thing first , find and fix the leak ,,, Next you will have to track the water damage ,,, Hopefully the plugs might need to be cleaned, hopefully the module was not damaged, otherwise you might be looking at big $$$ for replacement
Thank you Bad Venge...
There is a lot of moisture near the module... the leak is in the vent area, behind the glove compartment and they have the car and are trying to figure out how to get to it.
The module was taken off and cleaned up... some corrosion was there and stuff... just hoping it has not 'travelled' up. He cleaned it off. And things worked for a bit...however there is so much moisture right now, that could be the cause. I am hoping that is it...
I will keep you posted.
