'05 convertible door lock issue
I am trying to help a friend fix a door lock problem. The car is a 2005 convertible. The driver side lock WILL NOT unlock electrically using the key fob or in dash button nor manually from the inside. It will unlock manually with the key inserted into the door from the outside. The electronics (key fob and in dash button) WILL lock the driver door as normal. The passenger door operates fine. Seems like it could be a cable issue but I have no experience with these cars. Thoughts and recommendations please

door lock
I also think that the main problem of that is to have a mechanic check on the door lock actuator. Also try bringing your car on a shop to check the key fob.

Anybody have any followup on this issue. I have the same prob on 05 Cooper (not s) with sunroof. Driver's door will not unlock with keyfob, will unlock with key in door.
Door locks either way, passenger door is 100% normal. All keyfob functions are normal except for unlocking driver's door. Both fobs function the same way. Pulled off the inside of the door and took a look/experimented. Fob actuates something in the drivers door (there is a clicking noise and I can feel a vibration - something is clearly moving), but the door doesn't unlock. Any ideas... I have not searched the forum how to open fob and remove battery (hoping to reset whatever logic/electronics there might be inside). If there is a simple explanation for this or a reference within the forum, please post. Thanks!!!
