Default 07 Cooper S engine won't start!! HELP

OK so the situation was, i miss shifted and accidentally went from 5th to 4th and i redlined for like 2 sec. After that, the oil sign came up and started to make warning "ding ding" sound. And whenever i push the gas, the warning "ding" sounds and the engine doesn't get power. Felt like fuel was getting cut off. The engine is fine. THe engine was still on after so i just went on neutral and parked on the side of the curb and the engine went off. I let the engine rest and my engine won't turn on now. The starter motor spins, but won't fire the engine. Jumping didn't work. Whats wrong? Please help!

Well, you found limp mode. Try disconnecting the battery for a little while and trying again... I've never run into this before though, so I dunno exactly how to solve it, but that might work.
