some background: its my father in-laws mini. my wife borrowed it while her car is in the shop. locked it last night using the key since his key fob doesn't work. my wife goes out this morning and can't open it. the key continuously spins in either direction. replace the battery in the key fob nothing. come to find out my father in law has never used the key fob. ok. I do the obvious, hit it with a little graphite, jiggle, turn, pull handle NOTHING!. Call triple A. Triple A shows up the guy is working on the drivers side door. gets a hook extension pulls the handle a couple times and the door tab comes up a little! making progress! NOPE! Triple A guy gets the hook to the switches on the dash NOTHING! Triple A guy wedges the window open and gets a "pull loop" around the door tab and pulls up on it. NOTHING. so triple a guy decides to pry open the window some more and slide his hand arm down to get his fingers on the door tab and POP! WIND SHATTERS TO HELL! Triple A guy has glass embedded in his arm. BLOOD and GLASS everywhere.

Ok, so I am able to get the passenger side open. Get the car started. BUT still can't open the drivers door!! Switches on dash. NOTHING! Pull Handle. NOTHING. Key just spins in the lock. door tab won't move only down. comes up a little but not all the way!

I need to get that door open! ideas?? Get the door open I can get the door panel off and get to work. Ranger Rick
