2005 S Convertible: Unknown wire in trunk

2005 S Convertible: Unknown wire in trunk
Hi All: Just bought a 05 S Convertible, which I freakin' love.
As a data point, I bought it from a guy in Southern Maryland, zip code 20832. It has 158K on it, runs perfect with no issues, but does have a few small dents. I paid $4K even
Anyway: there's a coupla wires in the trunk that are disconnected, and I was hoping someone could help me identify them. There's a large (14ga?) red wire coming from the pos terminal of the battery, thru an in-line 3A fuse, and then there's a smaller (18ga?) red wire coming from the wiring harness that goes into the panel just rear of the battery. Both wires are red and disconnected, but the fact that they are different sizes makes me doubt that they're supposed to be connected...
