Default Air Conditioning

I have a 2005 S. The air cond didn't seem to be cooling down to as low a temp as I expected and took it to the dealer. They told me that the coolant was low (1 lb) and added some. After we left, I only noticed a slight improvement and was wondering if anyone has had similar problems. It was not a hot day (75 degrees). How cold is typical of the air coming out of the vents with the air on the coolest setting. Also, is there an internal regulation system to prevent itself from freezing? I am nearing my warrantee mileage and if a problem is there it needs attention soon.

Thanks

Hm, I have no idea without actually experiencing it. Go to the dealer and try out a new one and see what it feels like.

i have a 2006, the air was terrible, wife kept complaining

i took it in, they found that the 0 ring on the compressor was pinched and replaced it, then recharged it.

is it any better, yes, it is great- no...only 1 lb. of coolant and the typical old style english attitude towards air...

turn off the glove box air conditioning vent, and if you are alone, close the vent for the right side window area. this will help, it will cool down in a while, but not like a good old american car...but then, i don't drive with wife too much and the car is quick and neat so it is a trade off.
get it in on warranty, pronto

Where is the air con pump located? My air doesn't blow cold either and I don't hear it come on when I turn on the ac. I had the engine swapped with an 05 because the original engine went out. I wonder if they didn't connect everything. It there a place on the engine where the pump is visible so I can see if it is spinning? I have the snowflake button on and ac set to Low, so it should be blowing cold. Is there an engine diagram somewhere I can look at? Thanks

Jeff
