Battery Issue
I have a 2019 Cooper-S, 4-door hardtop. The car wouldn't start one day last week. Battery wouldn't charge; couldn't be jumped. Had to tow it to the dealership. The service manager told me the battery shorted-out, and that batteries only last 2-3 years. There is no built-in notification or alert system. I'm lucky I was stranded at home. But what if I had been driving when the battery suddenly died? Or out in the middle of nowhere on a road trip? This is a huge safety issue. How could there not be anything in place to give drivers a heads-up? When I'm on a road trip, there's a pop-up message "want to take a break"? So why not add a "low battery" alert? $350 for the battery plus the tow charges. Very discouraging.
