boot on convertible

Default boot on convertible

How do you take the plastic lining off, my boot sometime will not shut and i think there is water underneath

Is your latch not latching on the hatch? You can pull the license plate surround to see if the wiring is wet. Check this thread HERE as it may be useful to you.

the latch works then unlocks itself few minutes, seconds later. We have had a ton of rain. Yes i think the wiring is wet, thats why i want to remove the black plastic and see if i can get the water out out of there.

Click on the thread I posted above. It's a fix to your issue. You'll want to pull the license plate surround to "moisture proof" the assembly.

For the interior panel:

an R53 you take the torx out I know that there are more that 2 so see if you missed some and then the panel should be held by plastic clips pop them out with a trim/panel tool or a flathead screwdriver, just don't brake them.
