Default Bypass Valve replacement

Hi,
from my general research around the internet, I've concluded i may need to get me bypass valve replaced on my 03 mini-s. apparently MINIUSA's stock valve has a crappy spring and lot's of people have had to replace theres. the thing that has been happening is a very sluggish start out until 3000rpm.

I cannot find the part online other than the detroit tuned bypass valve, which seems expensive. does anybody know of a better (less expensive) alternative and where I can get one?

also I cannot find instructions on changing one, perhaps I should just take it in to the shop?

thanks for your time!

We carry the genuine unit here: Pelican Parts - Product Information: 11-61-7-568-423-M26

The bypass valve is located underneath the intercooler output air duct.
