I have no problems locking and unlocking my '03 Mini Cooper with the remote, and the toggle switch inside works just fine... I don't have a problem with the central locking system kicking in once I start driving, but I don't like the fact that the doors remain locked after I've stopped or shut the car off. The passenger door will unlock and open after two pulls of the handle, but the drivers door will not. In order to get out, I have to hit the toggle switch every time.
The manual hasn't helped me much. Any suggestions?

 

your drivers door should act like the passenger door pull handle once to unlock second to open it ... I'd say mechanical failure in the drivers door
