I just bought a 09 S and the car came with the non turbo hood. It had been in a accident and they replaced the hood/fender etc, but they threw on the first matching color hood they had, which was without scoop.

Now, obviously, the turbo intake will be sucking in quite warm air without the scoop which will decrease power... Are there any risks of detonation/knock with this? or is the stock tune sufficiently conservative?

Additionally, what might be the cheapest/simplest way to fix this? ie, could a body shop modify the stock hood to accept the scoop, or would it be easier to just find a junkyard hood and sell the old one?

I would just find the correct hood with the scoop. If you bring it to a shop to chop up, they might get the dimensions wrong. Good luck!
