Default I want to install Bluetooth in my 2011 Cooper

Just purchased a 2011 Mini Cooper S convertible. I thought it was
equipped with Bluetooth, however that turned out to not be the case.
It has a radio with Sirius, and I am wondering about buying a used
Bluetooth box that is specific to the Mini, and then installing it myself.
Anyone done that? And where does the box go, and how difficult
is this project.
Thanks for the help

Default MoBridge bluetooth aftermarket unit

I am currently working with a stereo shop in Scottsdale, and
believe they have located a Bluetooth unit manufactured by
a company called Mobridge. It integrates into the existing radio
in the Mini, and the telephone button on the steering wheel works,
as does the display on the radio. It requires that the car be
programmed, in order that it recognizes/activates Bluetooth for
the car. The install is not complex (I am told). Bad news is
that the Mobridge unit sells for somewhere around $750.00.
I will let you know if it works out

Hello 2007-8/2010 MINI could have the option as there was a factory install retrofit kit. The 8/2010+ MINI ( 2011 model year ) it has to come from the factory ordered.

I've used a Sony Ericsson system on my previous car. (2002 VW Jetta) When I sold it, I took out the system and used it on my daughters car. (2008 Toyota Avalon). The system is older but, it works. It comes with an external speaker but if you want, an accessory can be purchased which lets you hear the conversation through the car speakers. Hope this helps. The price for these vary with retailer. The first one I bought cost me $175 from SE and the last one I purchased cost $39 on amazon.
Sony Ericsson:
HCB-30
HCE-16
If you know your way around a car, it is not difficult to install at all. The upgraded system includes a mini screen that shows the activity. (phone number calling/called)
HCB-700
These systems are older but, they still work just fine.
You might be able to purchase a "combox" from mini which will integrate Bluetooth with your Mini. They cost approx. $350 for my 2014 F56.
