I have a 2011 countryman S All4. I just replaced the water pump, thermostat and the crossover pipe between the two. While attempting to put the clip back into position that connects the pipe to the thermostat, I dropped it and cannot find it. My question is, how neccessary is this clip? The pip is sandwiched very well between the thermostat and the water pump. Will it be able to separate without the clip?
