08 Mini Cooper S R56 1.6L turbo....When accelerating, no noise. When letting off the gas, sounds like a loud vibration coming from the passenger engine side.sound stays till I drop to under 5 mph. I tried to listen from the outside to no prevail.....I've just replaced the following:
Oil pump, Sprocket and chain
Drive beltTensioner
Serpentine belt
Passenger drive axle
Rotors and brake calipers and pads
It doesn't shake at all, just makes a God awful loud vibration sound when i let off the gas, goes away when I accelerate. I thought it was my new oil pump so I received a new replacement but it still does it...I also smelled, after driving for about 20 minutes, a burning rubber smell. Don't know if it's related or not.. don't want to drive it far due to making something worse...any experienced help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
