Mice & Mini
I could not find any post on mice problems so decide to post one for other Mini owners. We had caught 2 mice in our 2008 Clubman after seeing one sleeping on some clothing. Car is always in a garage with windows closed at night so entry and hideout was a mystery.
After trapping the 2nd one further investigation revealed nest making on the intake side of the fresh air filter when it was removed. Conjecture is the mice slipped by the filter into the vent system. Further checking of the intake side within the engine compartment reveals an unobstructed 4"x7"opening as easy access point.
As no after market screens available I made one that nicely fits into the rubber grommet. I made a cardboard template and then cut screen out of a metal gutter screen. Hopefully end of the Mini invasion and onto trapping the critters from the garage.
Best to remove the battery for better access fitting the screen.
