I have a 2002 Mini that is having some transmission issue. When it has run a while say a half hour or so, the transmission shift pattern will jump to the left in making available only 3rd and 4th gears but they are in the 1st and 2nd position. Is this linkage, or internal?

Sorry for not seeing u write......Well id def bring it into the dealer if u havent already cuz i never heard of that one b4....it does sound like the linkage but it would do it all the time and have nothing to do with warm up time.

It's in the shop now. There was apparently some sort of external plastic guide that has broken. Will fill you in in more detail once it is back. It is due mid week next week.

Underneath the car is the shifter box where the rod meets the trans linkage. Thank god for warranty. It is a pain to get in there....yo uhave to drop the mid pipe and take off all the tunnel insulation to get to it. i know this b/c i was reading up on my B&M short throw shifter instructions cuz its goin in pretty soon.....along with the long list of other chit i have. Good luck

I've been on vacation on and off. I went to Mexico a couple weeks ago, and vacationed around other parts of NC last week.
