Hello everybody,

Another new guy here. Ifinally purchased my MINI recently, a 2003 Cooper base model in remarkably good condition (hopefully the pic will upload). I love my car just as much as I thought I would, and everything has been great so far. After I changed the oil last week, the oil pressure light comes on whenever the engine rpm is 1000 or less. This improved after I reseated the oil filter, but it didn't eliminate the problem. I also reset the service miles. Could the problem still be caused by the oil filter? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 2002 two little baby> I took it in for oil chanege. I have the same problem. The shop dosn"t know how to fix it. Can you help?

 

Did you check oil level ??? sometimes a half quart low will cause it ...

 

Hi everyone in mini land. The oil lite is coming on at 1000rpm. It started after I had oil change. Do you have any more ideas? motorwerks is trying to tell me the machanic probably threw a part of the housing away because he did not know what it was. I am still working with the shop to resolve this problem. I don't dare drive it. Thank you

 

Any idea what he threw away ??? I'd make them TOW it to the shop , and replace the missing part ... It might be as simple as they didn't seat the oil filter correctly or missing an O ring ect

 

Motorwerks said on the 2002 minis there is somelittle plastic piece that was probably thrown out. I will talk to the shop today again and see what they found out.
