Default overheating

Recently took my car up to the mechanic to have the clutch replaced at 65k. When I got it back it is overheating after running fr 5-7 minutes. I replaced the thermostat and it made no difference. They didn't remove the motor so I don't see how that could have affected it. Any thoughts?

check the radiator cap/replace it ...I'm assuming you checked radiator/antifreeze levels ??? and the electric fans are OK

i had an overheating issue when the electric power steering cooling fan (under the car behind the oil pan) got grit in it to the point where it would not turn. it would short out the whole cooling system relay and as soon as i hit traffic it would overheat.
just give that fan a spin and see if its free of dirt ect.

as soon as i cleaned it out the cooling system was back up and running
