overheating
when im stopped at a light, my 04 mini's temp gauge goes all the way up in about 2-4 seconds, then when i start driving again it goes back down to normal. the first few times it happened i pulled over to check everything and nothing was our of the ordinary. nothing was hotter than normal and the power was still the same. could it be a computer problem or a leak somewhere?

overheating maybe
I can drive for an hour and the all of a sudden he yellow temperature idiot light goes on for a few seconds or a few minutes and then will go off again. Sometimes the red one goes on. I added some coolant but that did not seem to help. The weird thing is how intermittent it is - there is no pattern. It also takes along to time for the heater to get warm - I mean over 20 minutes on high...any thoughts?

I have had my 06 S for 2 days, the frist day, i sat in the driveway for a minute and checked out all the switches and what not. I noticed the same problem. I took it right back to the dealer, and they said it was a quart low on coolant and it had air trapped in the line. after burping the line, it has been great. stays right dead center no matter what now.

overheating
my 2007 mini S would occasionally signal overheating for brief periods intermittently. This became more prevalent and I noticed it was also taking a long time for the heater to work on cold days. The fix? A new water pump. Apparently it had a leak which created air bubbles and this messed up the thermostat, etc.
